Valerie Trueblood

Valerie Trueblood is an American novelist and short story writer. She grew up in Virginia, graduated from Brown University, and lives in Seattle. Her first book, Seven Loves (Little, Brown, 2006), a novel told in linked stories, was a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers selection. She has since published the story collections Marry or Burn (2010), a finalist for the Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award; Search Party: Stories of Rescue (2013), a finalist for the 2014 PEN/Faulkner Award; Criminals: Love Stories (2016); and Terrarium: New and Selected Stories (2018), all with Counterpoint. Her short fiction has appeared in magazines including Narrative. She wrote the foreword to Ramuz's Beauty on Earth.
