Alex Stein is an American essayist, aphorist and illustrator. His books include Made-Up Interviews with Imaginary Artists (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2009) - a genre-blurring collection of interviews, interview fictions and essays on the art of the interview - and Weird Emptiness: Essays and Aphorisms (Wings Press, 2007). He lives in Boulder and works at the University of Colorado.
Yahia Lababidi is an Egyptian-American poet, essayist and aphorist, the author of some sixteen books of poetry and prose. His first collection of aphorisms, Signposts to Elsewhere, was named a 2008 Book of the Year by The Independent (UK), and his work appears in World Literature Today, AGNI and Philosophy Now, as well as in Geary's Guide to the World's Great Aphorists. In 2012 he served as a juror for the Neustadt Prize, one of the most prestigious international literary awards.
