We started Onesuch Press in 2011 as a vehicle to bring back some wonderful books that were in danger of being forgotten in the wave of newly published contemporary literature and as a way of learning the craft of making books. Our byline was Onesuch Press enriches lives by reclaiming the forgotten past; publishing the lesser-known works of great writers and the great works of forgotten ones.
In many ways, that is still our aim. But we have grown and to reflect that we are relaunching as Skomlin.
Some of our reasons are..
To reflect a closer alignment with Europe and European literature. Skomlin is a small village in central Poland near the farm where my people came from (Actually it was Mokrsko – but that’s too easy to misspell.) We found that Onesuch was loaded with English references that were lost on much of our audience.
Skomlin is a simple word to remember and spell regardless of your background. It works in English, German, French, Italian etc. etc. All English six and seven letter English words have now been taken as url’s so Skomlin gives us a great, simple, unique web address.
We are progressively building this website and relaunching our social media assets with the new brand. We are changing our marketing strategy – up until now this has been passive, social media and focussed on selling on online channels. Once we have our website up and running I will let you know and you may want to update links on your blogs and let your reviewers know. (I’m happy to include them on my email list of people to update if you send me their details.)
We are changing our marketing strategy – up until now this has been passive, social media and focussed on selling on online channels. Now, we will be more active in promoting our books and getting them into real old-fashioned books stores.
We would love you to join us on our journey
